What's not to love about the indy game scene and it's current revival? From the phenomenal success of Angry Birds to truly brilliant tales like Journey and The Walking Dead, it's nice to see that inspiration and clever ideas can sometimes trump vast amounts of money spent on shiny graphics and celebrity voice actors. It's important to keep track of what's coming out because you never know when there will be a diamond in the rough. Fuel Overdose intrigued us. At first, it seems like a simple top-down racer with some clever mechanics and a fun strategic element to it. But below the paint there is a surprising amount of depth... which make the issues that plague the game all the more disappointing. It's difficult not to leave time spent with Fuel Overdose wondering how good it could have been if only it hadn't been executed better... or perhaps had a better focus.
